SPEEDWAY, Ind. – Persistent rain in the area has altered the Brickyard 400 weekend schedule at Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
Sunday’s race has been moved up an hour and is now scheduled for a 1 p.m. green flag on NBCSN, IMS Radio and SiriusXM Radio.
In addition, all track activity was canceled on Saturday, including NASCAR Cup Series qualifying.
With the starting grid set based on the rule book, Chase Elliott will lead his teammates to the green flag in the 11th position.
Jimmie Johnson and Alex Bowman will be the next two Hendrick Motorsports teammates to cross the starting line in 14th and 15th, respectively.
William Byron will roll off the grid 22nd.
Elliott has secured his spot in the 16-driver playoff field, but Johnson, Bowman and Byron all have scenarios to make the postseason in the final race of the regular season.
