CONCORD, N.C. – The quest for a NASCAR Cup Series championship begins this weekend as the playoffs kick off at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
And for this year’s playoffs, NASCAR and Twitter are teaming up to give all 16 drivers competing for the championship, including Hendrick Motorsports teammates Chase Elliott, Jimmie Johnson and Alex Bowman, their own unique playoff hashtag and emoji that will also be displayed on the side of the drivers’ race cars.
Fans can unlock Elliott, Johnson or Bowman’s specially-designed emojis by using #di9, #chasing8 and #Bowman88 hashtags, respectively, on Twitter.
In addition, all non-playoff participants, including William Byron, will showcase the Twitter bird and #NASCARPlayoffs emoji hashtag on their cars.
