DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. -- The alarm rang a little early for Jimmie Johnson Sunday morning at Daytona International Speedway.
It had to. After all, the seven-time champion was trying to fit in an extra race.
Johnson participated in the Daytona Beach Half-Marathon Sunday morning -- just a few hours before he'll climb behind the wheel of the No. 48 Ally Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 for Daytona 500 qualifying and The Clash.
The 13.1-mile race begins on the track at Daytona International Speedway and heads out to the beach before looping back toward the racetrack.
Afterward, Johnson shared his race time -- and a peek at his jam-packed Sunday schedule -- on social media.
The driver won his age group and finished the race 14th overall.
