ATLANTA – Tuesday evening, Chase Elliott was honored at the Boy Scouts of America’s annual Peach of an Athlete Awards.

For more than 30 years, the banquet has aimed to recognize deserving community leaders and athletes whose character and commitment to the community matches the ideals of the Scouting program, serving as strong role models for youth.

Tuesday evening’s banquet took place at the College Football Hall of Fame in Atlanta, and Elliott received the Professional Athlete Award.

It's given annually to a well-known, successful athlete who exemplifies qualities of responsible citizenship and outstanding character.

Past recipients of the honor include Dikembe Mutombo, Champ Bailey, Calvin Johnson, Dominique Wilkins and Warrick Dunn, to name a few, all of whom have either played sports in Georgia or resided in the state.
