RIDGEWAY, Va. – William Byron led the Hendrick Motorsports brigade in Saturday evening’s qualifying session at Martinsville Speedway.
Three of the organization’s drivers advanced to the final round with Byron capturing sixth.
Teammate Chase Elliott finished closely behind Byron in eighth while Jimmie Johnson qualified 12th.
Alex Bowman advanced to Round 2 and qualified for the race in 17th.
Joey Logano captured the pole.
Sunday’s 500-lap race at Martinsville Speedway is scheduled for 2 p.m. ET on FS1, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
