CONCORD, N.C. – Hendrick Motorsports Gaming Club drivers Sam Morris and Nick Jobes took on Watkins Glen International Wednesday night for the first road-course race of the eNASCAR Heat Pro League schedule.
PlayStation 4 gamers were up first with No. 25 Chevy driver Jobes taking the green flag in fifth for the 24-lap race. In the early laps of the event, the driver bounced between the top six positions. With 17 laps to go, he headed to pit road with the majority of the field and returned in seventh.
With 15 laps left in the race, Jobes was running fifth. Before the checkered flag waved, he moved up to fourth to capture his second top-five finish of the season.
Next up was the Xbox One race, and No. 5 Chevy driver Morris started in 11th. He was able to quickly advance through the field. At the first yellow flag, Morris was already in eighth with 19 laps to go.
Just 15 laps remained in the race and he had fallen to 10th. On the next lap, the No. 5 car pitted with a handful of competitors. After a caution, Morris was in second thanks to his pit strategy to pit earlier in the race.
He continued to battle inside the top 10, running eighth with three laps remaining before falling back to a 10th-place result.
After the races concluded, Hendrick Motorsports GC had moved up to 11th in the eNASCAR Heat Pro League standings.
