CONCORD, N.C. – Whether it’s in the mountains or across the pond, Hendrick Motorsports drivers are looking for some relaxation and some time with friends and family during the last off-weekend of the season.
Alex Bowman is spending his time away from the track with friends and looking forward to relaxing and having fun before tackling the final 12 races of the year.
“Hanging out with some friends, nothing big,” the driver said. “I’m traveling a little bit to Colorado, too, so it should be really fun.”
William Byron will spend his off-week across the pond. The sophomore driver is headed to Europe and playing tourist with his older sister, Kathryn.
“I’m going to Europe, so I’m pretty excited about that,” the driver said. “I’m going to France and Scotland. My sister only gets two weeks off in the summer from work so I’m going to go with her. Hopefully, we can do some sightseeing around there. I’ve only been to Europe one time so I’m really excited about it.”
After the break, the action picks back up at Darlington Raceway with the Southern 500, which is scheduled for 6 p.m. ET on Sept. 1 on NBCSN.
