LAS VEGAS - Thursday afternoon on the Las Vegas Strip, all 16 NASCAR Cup Series drivers who are competing in the playoffs took over the streets as the annual NASCAR Burnout Blvd. presented by Goodyear commenced.
Chase Elliott, William Byron and Alex Bowman were cheered on by fans who lined the streets for blocks as they each took their turn doing a burnout on The Strip. The event was televised on NBCSN, and former Hendrick Motorsports driver and NBCSN analyst Dale Earnhardt Jr. gave scores for each driver’s burnout.
Although there was no actual competition for the burnout, fans and on-lookers were able to get a glimpse of the playoff field and cheer on the Hendrick Motorsports drivers.
As the playoffs begin, it’s all about the next 10 races to see who will be crowned the 2019 NASCAR Cup Series champion, and it starts this weekend at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Be sure to tune into all the action as teams take on the 1.5-mile track this Sunday at 7 p.m. ET on NBCSN.
