CONCORD, N.C. -- The NASCAR Cup Series playoffs are heating up as the field prepares to race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway.
Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman still are in the hunt for a championship as they look to make an impact during the first race in the Round of 12. Jimmie Johnson will try to get his 84th Cup Series victory and William Byron will try to earn his second win of the season.
It's the second time the field has been to Las Vegas this season. Back in February, Johnson earned a top-five finish at the "Sin City" track.
