CONCORD, N.C. -- Chase Elliott and Alex Bowman will be in the top five when they roll off the grid for Sunday's race at Texas Motor Speedway.
Elliott will begin the event in fourth and Bowman will start in fifth as they try to punch their tickets into the Championship 4 of the playoffs.
William Byron will rev his engine in 11th and Jimmie Johnson will round of the Hendrick Motorsports crew with a 26th-place start.
The starting lineup is based on a new metric system put in place on Aug. 6. Points position is weighted at 35%; finishing position from the previous race is for 50%; and the fastest race lap makes up 15%.
