CONCORD, N.C. -- Hendrick Motorsports will aim to have its second 1-2-3-4 starting lineup in DAYTONA 500 history Thursday when the NASCAR Cup Series field hits the track at Daytona International Speedway for the Duel races.

The DAYTONA 500 qualifying session took place Wednesday night, where Alex Bowman earned his second DAYTONA 500 Busch Pole Award and William Byron secured the outside pole.

The Duel races will set up the rest of the starting lineup for Sunday's race by dividing the drivers into two groups based on their qualifying session. Bowman will lead the charge in the first Duel and will be joined by teammate Kyle Larson, who will roll off the grid eighth.

Byron will start first in the second Duel and will race alongside Chase Elliott, who will rev his engine in fifth place.

Should Larson and Elliott win their respective Duels or place second behind Bowman and Byron, the four Hendrick Motorsports cars will line up in the two first rows for "The Great American Race."
