CONCORD, N.C. -- The starting lineup for the DAYTONA 500 has been solidified after the conclusion of the Duel races late Thursday night.
Alex Bowman still is scheduled to roll off the grid in the pole position for Sunday's race. William Byron will line up with Bowman on the front row but he will have to drop to the rear at the start of the race. His No. 24 Axalta Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE was caught up in an accident during the second Duel event and the team will be using a backup car for the 500.
Chase Elliott secured the No. 12 position after he placed fifth in Duel No. 2 and Kyle Larson will round out the Hendrick Motorsports crew with a 13th-place start after his seventh-place finish in Duel No. 1.
