CONCORD, N.C. -- The starting lineups have been set for the heat races at Bristol Motor Speedway and Alex Bowman will begin his qualifying session on the pole.
Through a random drawing Thursday afternoon, all of the NASCAR Cup Series drivers hitting the track for the inaugural Bristol dirt race were placed in one of four heat sessions that will take place Saturday night. Bowman will start first in Heat 3, while teammate Kyle Larson will be on the outside pole in Heat 1.
William Byron will qualify through the second heat with a sixth-place start and Chase Elliott will race in the final heat with a ninth-place start.

Each heat will be 15 laps and only circuits under green will count. To determine the starting order for Sunday's race, a formula was created that weighs finishing position plus positions gained during each qualifying race.
Drivers finishing first in their qualifying race earn 10 points, second place earns nine, third place earns eight, and so on. Drivers will earn one passing point for each position gained in their qualifying race to add to their total. If there is a tie in points, current team owners points will be used as the tie breaker.
The qualifying sessions will begin Saturday at 6 p.m. and will be broadcast on FS1. That starting order will roll off the grid Sunday at 3:30 p.m. ET. Coverage of the dirt race at Bristol Motor Speedway will be on FOX. Take a look below to see the full starting lineups for each heat.
