CONCORD, N.C. -- Kyle Larson's best qualifying time at practice for the Circuit of The Americas event on Sunday placed him in the front row for the inaugural NASCAR Cup Series race.
Larson will start second and teammate William Byron will be shortly behind him with a fifth-place start. Chase Elliott also will have a top-10 start by rolling off the grid in eighth and Alex Bowman will round out the crew with a 12th-place start.
Tyler Reddick won the pole.
This is the second time this season Cup Series drivers have had qualifying for a race. In February, Bowman earned the pole and Byron lined up by him after they swept qualifying for the DAYTONA 500.
