CONCORD, N.C. -- The Hendrick Motorsports drivers switch gears and take to their iRacing rigs as they head to the virtual Chicago Street Course for its debut event in the eNASCAR Pro Invitational Series this Wednesday.
Kyle Larson, who won last Sunday at Charlotte Motor Speedway and set the NASCAR Cup Series win record for Hendrick Motorsports, will sport a new scheme on his virtual race car. The No. 5 Urban Youth Racing School Camaro was designed by Jordan Polite, a 2008 graduate of the school.
Chase Elliott will sport a new scheme designed by a fan on his No. 9 Napa Auto Parts Chevy. William Byron, a four-time winner in the series, will bring his virtual No. 24 Axalta Camaro to the street course and Alex Bowman will don his No. 48 Ally Chevrolet at the virtual track.
The eNASCAR iRacing Pro Invitational Series came to life at the start of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020 after the NASCAR Cup Series season was halted for safety measures. The series ran for seven races last season, and Hendrick Motorsports drivers took home four wins out of those seven events.
Coverage of this Wednesday’s event begins at 7 p.m. ET with televised practice. Be sure to tune in to FS1 on Wednesday at 8 p.m. ET to see the Hendrick Motorsports drivers take the green flag for the first time on the virtual Chicago Street Course.
