CONCORD, N.C. — Hendrick Motorsports returns to Atlanta Motor Speedway this Sunday for the second time this season, ready to improve from its last visit to the 1.5 mile-track.
Last time at Atlanta, the teams secured three top-10 finishes, including a dominant performance by Kyle Larson, who placed second after leading 269 laps. Alex Bowman took home a third-place finish and William Byron placed eighth in the 325-lap event.
Chase Elliott returns to his home track at Atlanta after coming off a win at Road America on July 4. His win at last weekend marks his second victory of the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series season after winning at Circuit of The Americas on May 23.

Since NASCAR is taking extra precautions to ensure the safety of the teams and personnel at the track, there will be no practice and no qualifying.
The starting order for Sunday's race was announced Wednesday morning based on metric system put in place last August.

Its 1,037 laps led are the most in history by a team through the first five intermediate races of a season.
