CONCORD, N.C. -- Kyle Larson will lead the charge for Hendrick Motorsports as the NASCAR Cup Series returns from the two-week Olympic break and gears up for Watkins Glen International this weekend.
Larson will roll off the grid fourth for the 2.45-mile road course and teammate Alex Bowman also will begin the race in the top 10 with a 10th-place start.
Chase Elliott will start his engine right behind Bowman in 11th and William Byron will round out the Hendrick Motorsports crew by rolling off the grid in 15th.
The starting lineup was set based on the metrics formula from last season. It applies the data from the driver's finishing position of the last race (25%), the car owner's finishing position from the last race (25%), team owner points ranking (35%) and the fastest lap from the previous race.
Brad Keselowski will start on the pole.
