CONCORD, N.C. -- In this week's episode of Game Day to Race Day, get to know Dustin Lineback, the jackman for the No. 48 team at Hendrick Motorsports, as he breaks down his decision to leave football behind for a career in the NASCAR Cup Series.

Lineback played outside linebacker at East Carolina University for three years before trying to make it as a professional player for the Canadian Football League. When that door shut for Lineback, he decided to take a leap of faith and make a unique career change.

"I lost a lot of sleep over it," Lineback said. "I loved football; I lived every day for football. I cultivated my passion for racing and NASCAR and now I have the same passion as I did for football."

Check out the video above to hear how Lineback made the choice to move on from football and how he's embraced a new love of racing. He and the No. 48 team will be in action on Oct. 10 at 2 p.m. ET on NBC at the playoff race at the Charlotte Motor Speedway ROVAL.
