CONCORD, N.C. – The first leg of NASCAR’s three-week West Coast swing is upon us. And Auto Club Speedway is on deck.
Hendrick Motorsports’ first win of a Cup Series season has come at the Southern California track three times: 2002, 2010 and 2020.
Entering Sunday’s showdown, the team has won 35% of the Cup Series races held at the 2-mile venue. Hendrick Motorsports went to victory lane with driver Jeff Gordon in the track’s inaugural event in 1997 and has won 11 of its 31 races.
The 14-time championship organization’s most recent victory at Auto Club Speedway came in 2020 – the most recent race held there – when Alex Bowman led more than half the race and earned his second career victory.
