RANDLEMAN, N.C. – Pit crew athletes from Hendrick Motorsports helped to create an unforgettable night at this year’s Victory Junction "NASCARnival."

The athletes took part in various carnival-themed games that the camp offered, including a dunking booth and pie throwing. To conclude the event, the pit crew members performed a pit stop demonstration done with Victory Junction’s very own race car.
"Victory Junction and their NASCARnival has always been a fun and rewarding experience," said No. 48 front-tire changer Donnie Tasser. "From the pit stop demonstration to the pie throw – they don’t hold back when it comes to the pie throw. All the kids’ faces don’t stop lighting up. It feels great to be a part of that and help give them that experience."

Victory Junction drew inspiration from driver Adam Petty, the late grandson of seven-time champion Richard Petty and the son of former driver, now NASCAR on NBC analyst Kyle Petty. Adam Petty’s passion for racing was second only by his empathy for others, especially children. Petty was very involved in helping children, often visiting pediatric hospitals between races. Following his passing in 2000, Petty’s family worked to turn his dream of a camp to serve children with serious medical conditions into a reality, opening the camp in 2004.
Located in Randleman, North Carolina, Victory Junction spans 84 acres of land. The camp’s mission is to make a difference in the lives of children with serious illnesses by providing life-changing camping experiences that are empowering, fun and exciting, all at no cost to children or their loved ones. One of the camp’s traditions is the “NASCARnival,” a NASCAR-themed carnival that gives campers a glimpse into the racing world.
"The energy and excitement of NASCARnival was amazing," said No. 24 tire carrier, Ryan Patton. "From the pit stop demonstration to carnival games and sweet treats, it was a night to remember. It is important to give back to the community with the same passion we have for winning. Victory Junction provides a great opportunity to do that and I’m thankful to have been a part of it."
