CONCORD, N.C. – Iowa Speedway will host a NASCAR Cup Series race for the first time in the 2024 season. The race at the Newton, Iowa, facility will be held on Sunday, June 16, at 7 p.m. ET on USA Network.
The Iowa race will take on Father's Day and will see the NASCAR Xfinity Series and ARCA Menards Series run there in the same weekend as companion events.
The 0.875-mile oval has hosted the Xfinity Series (20 races from 2009 to 2019) and the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series (13 races from 2009 to 2019) in the past. All four Hendrick Motorsports drivers have run national series races at Iowa. Kyle Larson made two Xfinity starts in 2013 and finished fifth in both events. Alex Bowman made three Xfinity starts and had a top finish of fifth in 2016. In addition, he won a race in what is now known as the ARCA Menards Series in 2012. Chase Elliott made six national series starts from 2013 to 2015 at this track, finishing inside the top 10 in five of those races. He also won a race in what is now known as the ARCA Menards Series East in 2012.

Among the quartet, William Byron has had the most success at the short track. He has wins in each of the Xfinity Series (2017), Truck Series (2016) and ARCA Menards Series East (2015) at Iowa. In fact, his Xfinity Series win was his first in that series during his championship-winning season of 2017.
Pieces of the 2024 schedule have come out over the past several weeks. Here is what is known so far:
Feb. 4: Clash at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum
Feb. 18: DAYTONA 500
Spring: Bristol Motor Speedway’s spring race to return to concrete oval layout
May 19: All-Star Race at North Wilkesboro Speedway
July 21: Brickyard 400 on oval layout at Indianapolis Motor Speedway
November: Championship weekend at Phoenix Raceway
