CONCORD, N.C. - Hendrick Motorsports takes on Martinsville Speedway this weekend as the Round of 8 of the NASCAR playoffs come to a close.
The organization has won 28 times at the 0.526-mile track, which is not only the most by the team at one track but it is the most at any track by any team in the sport's history. All four drivers in the current lineup have notched victories at "The Paperclip." Kyle Larson is the most recent to win with his triumph in the 2023 spring race. Chase Elliott won the playoff race in 2020 to advance to the Championship 4 in his title season. William Byron was victorious in the spring 2022 race and Alex Bowman scored the win in the fall 2021 race.

This is the cutoff race before the Championship 4 is set. Larson is already locked into the next round on both the driver and owner's side with his win at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Byron and the No. 24 team remain in contention, while the No. 9 team is still in the hunt for the owner's championship.
Larson will have the HendrickCars.com paint scheme on the No. 5 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. In five starts at Martinsville with Hendrick Motorsports, he has three top-five finishes (in his prior 12 starts at Martinsville, he had one top-five). All four of Larson's points-paying victories this season, including his win in the spring Martinsville race, have come with HendrickCars.com as the primary partner.

Elliott will carry the colors of NAPA Auto Parts on the No. 9 Chevy. Martinsville has been one of his best tracks on the Cup Series circuit. In 16 starts at the 0.526-mile venue, the 27-year-old driver has a win, five top-five finishes and 10 top-10s. His 957 laps led at Martinsville are his most at any track on the circuit. NAPA was on board for his win in the 2020 elimination race, which came a week before he won the Cup Series championship.
This weekend will see PODS make its debut as a primary sponsor for Byron and the No. 24 team. In 11 starts at Martinsville, the 25-year-old driver has one win, four top-five finishes and six top-10s. His top-five and top-10 results have all come in his last eight starts on the Virginia short track. Byron continues to hold the series lead in wins this season with six.
