CONCORD, N.C. - Hendrick Motorsports and the NASCAR Cup Series head west to take on Las Vegas Motor Speedway in the third race of the 2024 regular season.
The Rick Hendrick-owned team has won a series-best nine times at the 1.5-mile track. Since 2021, the organization has won four of the last six races there and they have also won the past three spring races at Las Vegas. In that time, Kyle Larson has won twice, Alex Bowman has been victorious once and William Byron is the defending race winner. Last spring's race saw Hendrick Motorsports sweep the top-three positions in the final running order.

Larson will drive the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. The 2021 Cup Series champion has the best average finish (9.9) among active drivers in Las Vegas. In his six starts with Hendrick Motorsports at Las Vegas, Larson has two wins, two runner-up finishes and has led a series-best 421 laps. One of those victories came in the most recent race here in October of 2023.

The LLumar Chevrolet will make its season debut with Chase Elliott and the No. 9 team. This is the first of two primary races for LLumar in the 2024 campaign. In 13 starts at Las Vegas, Elliott has three top-five finishes, five top-10s and a best finish of second coming in the 2021 playoff race.

Byron will debut the No. 24 Z by HP Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 paint scheme at Las Vegas. This is one of two primary races for HP this year. In last spring's victory, Byron led 176 laps on the day. The 26-year-old driver has a win and four top-10 results in his last six starts at Las Vegas.

Bowman's No. 48 Ally Chevy machine will sport its primary "digital camo" look this weekend. The 30-year-old driver has a win and third-place finish in his last three starts at Las Vegas. He is eager to get back at a track that has been successful for him in the past.

"Going back to Las Vegas (Motor Speedway) is important for us," Bowman said. "It’s been one of my better racetracks throughout the years."
