CONCORD, N.C. – Texas Motor Speedway is one of 14 NASCAR Cup Series tracks where Hendrick Motorsports has posted at least 11 wins. Since 2007, the 1.5-mile facility in Fort Worth, Texas, is the team's fourth-most successful track with 10 victories.

Last year's race at Texas led to one of the most notable triumphs in Hendrick Motorsports' history. On Sept. 24, 2023, William Byron earned the organization's 300th Cup Series win, making Hendrick Motorsports the first to reach 300 premier series victories. This came slightly over two years after the team passed Petty Enterprises as the all-time winningest Cup organization.

Byron led the final six laps of the race, taking the lead off of the final restart on lap 262. Driving the No. 24 Liberty University Chevrolet Camaro ZL1, he got a big run off the restart to drive by Bubba Wallace and Chase Briscoe to take the point position for good.

"It's really special," Byron said of being the driver to deliver the 300th Cup Series win for Hendrick Motorsports. "Growing up a Hendrick Motorsports fan, I watched win No. 200 on TV when Jimmie (Johnson) won that race. I always felt like the gold standard was Hendrick Motorsports. So, if I could ever drive for them, once I started having success in my career, that was the goal.

"When I met Mr. Hendrick when I was 14 at JR Motorsports, I told him that. That was a goal to drive for him. I didn't have a lot of confidence that that would work out, but I was going to put it out there. When we met again when I was 18 and running the (NASCAR CRAFTSMAN) Truck Series and sat down, I just had the confidence that he was going to take care of me and he was going to put me in the right places to succeed. I'm super thankful to him and to give him 300 is really cool.

"The 300th win is what will really stick with you in the history books and that's something that still hasn't set in. When you look back on pictures and look back on moments, you'll always remember that moment."

Team owner Rick Hendrick was in awe of the milestone when it happened.

"If we can win races every year and compete for championships, the numbers will come," Hendrick said. "269 was in my brain for a long time and I didn't think we could ever get there. I owe it all to the people here and the drivers along the way."

This year is Hendrick Motorsports' 40th anniversary. The company just celebrated the anniversary of its first win, just a few weeks shy of 40 years to the day, during the race weekend at Martinsville Speedway. Byron headlined a 1-2-3 finish for the team with his third win of 2024.

Hendrick Motorsports enters the Texas race weekend with 305 wins in the Cup Series at 31 different tracks among 20 different drivers.
