The Rick Hendrick-owned team has 16 wins at the South Carolina track. Last year, the team swept the NASCAR Cup Series races at the 1.366-mile track for its first wins at the venue since 2012. William Byron's spring win marked the 100th victory for the No. 24 Chevrolet and Kyle Larson's playoff triumph was the 500th national series win for the Hendrick Motorsports engine department.

Larson will drive the No. 5 HendrickCars.com Throwback Chevrolet Camaro ZL1. This paint scheme is a nod to Terry Labonte's classic paint scheme, in which he drove the No. 5 car to the 1996 Cup Series championship for Hendrick Motorsports. In 12 starts at Darlington, Larson has one win (September of 2023), six top-five finishes, eight top-10s and 770 laps led. The 2021 Cup Series champion's 9.4 average finish is the second-best among active drivers.

Chase Elliott will be behind the wheel of the No. 9 UniFirst Throwback Chevy. The livery on this ride is a nod to Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s race-winning No. 88 paint scheme in the 2014 DAYTONA 500. Elliott won the NASCAR Xfinity Series championship that same season while driving for Dale Jr.'s team, JR Motorsports. In 14 starts at Darlington, the 2020 Cup Series champ has four top-five finishes and seven top-10s. He is one of six drivers who finished in the top 10 in both races there last year, with his track-best result of third coming in the spring race.

Byron will sport the No. 24 Axalta Throwback Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 on Sunday. The ride is a nod to the 2009 "Firestorm" paint scheme run by team vice chairman and four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion Jeff Gordon. The 26-year-old driver has one win, four top-five finishes and five top-10s in 11 starts at Darlington. He was the only driver to finish in the top five in both races at the track "Too Tough to Tame."

Alex Bowman's No. 48 Ally Throwback Chevy is a nod to the paint scheme from the early seasons of the seven-time championship-winning duo of driver Jimmie Johnson and crew chief Chad Knaus. Johnson and Knaus were inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame in January. In 12 starts at Darlington, the 31-year-old driver has one top-five finish and three top-10s, with a best finish of second in NASCAR's return to racing in 2020.
