CONCORD, N.C. - For the first time in NASCAR Cup Series history, Hendrick Motorsports and the NASCAR Cup Series will take on Iowa Speedway.

While Iowa will make its debut for the tour's top division this weekend, the track has hosted NASCAR action in the past. From 2009-2019, the NASCAR Xfinity Series held 20 races here while the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series held 13 events. In that time, William Byron won at the Truck level in 2016 and again in the Xfintiy Series in 2017.

Chase Elliott will have NAPA Auto Parts as a primary sponsor once again this weekend. Sitting just behind Larson in the driver's championship, the team will look to Iowa as another opportunity to keep their run of consistent finishes going. As for the track itself, Elliott won a combined NASCAR K&N Pro Series race in 2012, beating out current Cup Series competitor Ryan Blaney for the win.
