Victory Junction was inspired by driver Adam Petty, the late grandson of seven-time champion Richard Petty and the son of former driver and now NASCAR on NBC analyst Kyle Petty. Adam Petty’s passion for racing was only surpassed by his empathy for others, particularly children. He was deeply involved in helping children, often visiting pediatric hospitals between races. After his passing in 2000, the Petty family worked to fulfill Adam’s dream of creating a camp for children with serious medical conditions. In 2004, Victory Junction opened its doors, turning that dream into a reality.

“The Victory Junction NASCARnival is such a great event to be a part of and a true honor to serve,” said pit department head coach Jacob Claborn. “Our pit crew athletes and I enjoyed the opportunity to perform some pit stops for the campers and interact with them after. It was great seeing Hendrick (Motorsports) athletes get dunked in the dunk tank, get pied in the face, and play games with the campers. As much as the campers enjoyed the night, our group may have enjoyed it even more.”

Located in Randleman, North Carolina, Victory Junction spans 84 acres of land. The camp’s mission is to make a difference in the lives of children with serious illnesses by providing camping experiences that are empowering, fun and exciting, all at no cost to the children or their families.

One of the camp’s cherished traditions is the “NASCARnival,” a NASCAR-themed carnival that immerses campers in the racing world. The event runs for six weeks, featuring different race teams who participate in the event that provided the children with an up-close look at the world of racing, creating memorable moments.

The event highlights the legacy of Adam Petty whose love for racing and compassion for children continues to impact lives. The campers, many of whom face significant medical challenges, experience the excitement of NASCAR while being surrounded by support and understanding.

Victory Junction remains dedicated to creating unforgettable experiences for children and ensuring they feel empowered. The “NASCARnival” is a testament to the camp’s mission providing an enriching environment where kids can dream, play and children despite their medical challenges.
