CONCORD, N.C. - This weekend, Hendrick Motorsports and the NASCAR Cup Series travel to Tennessee to take on the 1.33-mile oval of Nashville Superspeedway. The main event marks the 19th race of the season and is the official halfway point of the 2024 campaign.

Nashville provides a unique challenge to drivers in the Cup Series. The track's 14 degrees of banking and concrete racing surface provide competitors with several different lane options as rubber takes to the track with every lap. Located under an hour from the heart of the city, Nashville's lone date on the tour's calendar is sure to produce exciting racing this weekend.

Hendrick Motorsports has taken two of the three events held at the Tennessee track. Kyle Larson went to victory lane in 2021 after leading 264 laps on the day, while Chase Elliott was victorious in 2022 for his first of what would be five wins that season.

KEY NUMBERS TO KNOW FOR NASHVILLE
Data provided by Racing Insights

Larson, No. 5 team
With 755 circuits out front this season, Larson leads the Cup Series in laps led. Interestingly enough, 80% of these laps have come in the first two stages. For Nashville, the No. 5 team will aim to be in contention as the laps click off and replicate the team's triumph in '21. In the three races at the track, Larson has finished first, fourth and fifth.

Elliott, No. 9 team
Tied atop the regular season points standings, Elliott's consistency has been a hallmark of his season thus far. The driver of the No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts entry leads the Cup Series with a 9.161 average finish and has completed all but one lap in 2024. He's also completed 779 laps inside the top-10 during the three races held at Nashville since 2021.

Byron, No. 24 team
In the last nine races compared to the previous nine events, William Byron's average finish has jumped from 16.11 to 10.33. With this jump in performance has also come consistent top-10 results. Currently, the Charlotte, North Carolina, native sits tied for second in the category with 10 top-10 finishes. Watch for Byron to improve on his previous best Nashville finish of third this weekend.

Bowman, No. 48 team
Also sitting with double-digit top-10 results is Alex Bowman with 10. Despite not having found victory lane in 2024, the driver of the No. 48 Ally Racing entry has an average finish of 14.50 with four top-five results. He's also finished inside the top 10 in nine of the last 14 events. As for Nashville, Bowman will sport a special paint scheme in Tennessee this weekend.
