CONCORD, N.C. - Talk about gathering some momentum ...
It was a largely banner evening at Bristol Motor Speedway on Saturday for Hendrick Motorsports, as Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott finished 1-2 with Alex Bowman adding a top-10 finish in ninth. By the time the Tennessee dust settled, all four of the organization's drivers, including William Byron, advanced into the NASCAR Cup Series playoffs Round of 12.
And that leads to Sunday and the first race of the second round at Kansas Speedway in Kansas City, Kansas.
The Plains have been good to Hendrick Motorsports, historically speaking. The organization leads all of the Cup Series in wins (nine), poles (six), top fives (46), top 10s (85) and laps led (2,180) at the 1.5-mile tri-oval. And as with most statistical categories at Hendrick Motorsports, its led by Jeff Gordon, who visited victory lane three times at Kansas.
But the current lineup of drivers certainly has encouraging numbers there as well. Larson has won twice at Kansas, including earlier this year in one of the most thrilling finishes in the history of NASCAR. Elliott also has a win to his credit, taking the checkered flag back in 2018.
Here's the full rundown of numbers and a quick look at Hendrick Motorsports history at Kansas.
