LAS VEGAS - Another top-five run, another week atop the heap in the NASCAR Cup Series points standings for William Byron.
The driver of the No. 24 Chevrolet turned in a workmanlike, fourth-place finish on Sunday at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. It marked his 11th top-six showing in the last 12 events and riding the hot start to the season, Byron owns sole possession of first place in the points standings by 29 markers.
And he doesn't have to look far behind for some familiar company.
Hendrick Motorsports teammate Chase Elliott is in a share for third place after a second-straight, 10th-place run on Sunday. Alex Bowman and Kyle Larson also backed up top-10 runs at Phoenix with another at Las Vegas and sit fifth and sixth respectively through five events.
