CONCORD, N.C. -- The starting lineup for Sunday's Darlington race is set.

Alex Bowman will roll off the grid on the front row in second place, Jimmie Johnson will start in eighth, Chase Elliott will hit the track in 11th and Byron will start in 18th.

NASCAR is taking extra precautions for the drivers' and teams' safety by opting not to have a qualifying session and omitting practice sessions.

The top 12 drivers in the owners standings were placed in one group of names drawn. The lowest a driver could roll off the grid in this group was 12th place.

The next 12 names in the standings were placed in the second group and a third section of names was selected to start in the latter part of the field.

Elliott, Bowman and Johnson are ranked third, fourth and fifth, respectively, in the standings, which placed them in the top group. Byron, ranked 19th, had his name drawn from the second group.

Brad Keselowski will start from the pole position.

The first race back after a two-month hiatus will be at Darlington Raceway on Sunday, May 17, at 3:30 p.m. ET on FOX.
