CONCORD, N.C. -- The NASCAR All-Star Race will move from Charlotte Motor Speedway to Bristol Motor Speedway this season, the organization announced Monday.

The race will still be on July 15 at 7 p.m. on FOX Sports 1. The festivities will be a one-day event and, as in previous All-Star Races, a $1 million prize will be on the line.

The All-Star Race format will be announced at a later date. NASCAR also stated more fan access will be allowed and 30,000 spectators can attend the race.

"The NASCAR All-Star Race is an event known for making history, and we will enhance that legacy by hosting the event at Bristol Motor Speedway,” said Speedway Motorsports president and CEO Marcus Smith. "While Charlotte will always be recognized as the birthplace and traditional home for the All-Star Race, the current data surrounding the pandemic in North Carolina makes Bristol a better option for fan access this summer."

With the announcement, the fan voting is up and running. Fans can vote by visiting NASCAR.com or by downloading the NASCAR mobile app. Voting will run between 7 p.m. ET on Monday, June 15 and noon ET on Tuesday, July 14.

Fans can vote once a day for the driver they want in the All-Star Race. Votes shared on Facebook or Twitter count double.

Chase Elliott, Jimmie Johnson and Alex Bowman already are locked into the All-Star Race. William Byron can join the crowd a couple of ways - either by winning a race between now and the All-Star event or through fan voting.

The move to Bristol marks the second time since the All-Star Race's inception in 1985 that the event hasn't been held at Charlotte Motor Speedway. In 1986, the race was held at Atlanta Motor Speedway before returning to the North Carolina track.
