Most popular of 2014: Videos

CONCORD, N.C. -- With an exciting 2014 coming to a close, we're taking a look back at what you, the fans, made the most-popular content on HendrickMotorsports.com all year long.

It's a way to reflect back on key events throughout the calendar year, and may even bring back a few memories you'd forgotten about.

Let's start with the seven most popular videos of 2014.

NO. 7: STEVE LETARTE'S EXIT INTERVIEW

As his career at Hendrick Motorsports -- which spanned two decades -- came to a close, No. 88 crew chief Steve Letarte sat down with Hendrick Motorsports for a two-part "exit interview" to discuss his tenure with the organization, his relationship with Owner Rick Hendrick and the future of the No. 88 team.

NO. 6: JOHNSON UNVEILS 2015 NO. 48 LOWE'S CHEVROLET SS

This month, Jimmie Johnson surprised a group of Lowe's employees with the first look at the 2015 Lowe's paint scheme for the No. 48 Lowe's Chevrolet SS. The Lowe's employees knew crew chief Chad Knaus would be there -- but they didn't expect Johnson to be hiding inside the car.

NO. 5: GORDON'S AXALTA CHEVROLET SS GETS A NEW LOOK

For the first of the two most-popular time lapses of the year, go inside the No. 24 race shop to see how Jeff Gordon's No. 24 Axalta Chevroet SS took on a new "Radiant Red" paint scheme for the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway.

NO. 4: WATCH JOHNSON'S NO. 48 TRANSFORM INTO LOWE'S RED VEST CHEVROLET SS

Once again, take a behind-the-scenes look inside a race shop, this time with the No. 48 team as Jimmie Johnson's Lowe's Chevrolet SS got a new paint scheme to reflect the red vest worn by Lowe's employees across the country. Johnson just so happened to win at Texas Motor Speedway in the red Chevrolet SS.

NO. 3: JEFF GORDON: TEST DRIVE 2

With help from Pepsi MAX, Gordon one-upped his previous "test drive" prank by terrifying a journalist who didn't believe the first prank was real. It involves a convincing disguise and a high-speed chase, and was predictably one of the most popular videos of the year.

NO. 2: SURPRISES AT HENDRICK MOTORSPORTS FAN FEST

At Hendrick Motorsports Fan Fest 2014, fans visited the organization's Concord, North Carolina, campus to celebrate 30 years of racing. But some of Kasey Kahne, Gordon, Johnson and Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s biggest fans didn't expect a quick video shoot to turn into a surprise meeting with their heroes.

NO. 1: DALE JR. TAKES THE ALS ICE BUCKET CHALLENGE

In 2014, the trend sweeping across social media was to take the Ice Bucket Challenge to support ALS. Never one to shy away from a challenge, Earnhardt stepped up to the plate for a good cause, and provided one of the most memorable moments on Hendrick Motorsports' YouTube channel for the whole year.
