CONCORD, N.C. – The NASCAR Cup Series heads to Kansas Speedway this Sunday and Kyle Larson is eager to get to the 1.5-mile track in his No. 5 HendrickCars.com Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE.

Larson took home his first win with Hendrick Motorsports in his fourth start at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on March 7, another 1.5-mile track on the Cup Series schedule. The Las Vegas track is serving as a blueprint for Larson, who is looking to secure his second overall 1.5-mile track win and fourth victory this season for the organization.

“(I’m) definitely excited to get back to Kansas; it’s a place I feel like that is most similar to Las Vegas in grip level and banking,” Larson said. “We had a really fast car at Las Vegas and got the win, so I’ve had Kansas circled since we left Las Vegas.”

In his Cup Series career, Larson has three top-five finishes, five top-10s and led 164 laps at Kansas. This season, Larson has led a total of 377 laps at 1.5-mile tracks, the most of all drivers in the Cup Series; 103 of those laps led occurred at Las Vegas.

“I didn’t get to race (at Kansas) last year so I’ll see how things are different compared to what I remember,” Larson said. “(I’ll) really look at my teammates and how their data looks, how their driving styles look and just take in as much information as I can to be ready for the race.”

In both trips to Kansas during the 2020 season, Larson’s three Hendrick Motorsports teammates amassed one top-five finish and five top-10s. Chase Elliott holds the most recent Hendrick Motorsports win at the Kansas venue, taking home the trophy in October 2018.

Be sure to tune in this Sunday at 3 p.m. ET on FS1 to see Larson and the rest of the Hendrick Motorsports drivers take on Kansas Speedway.
