Ricky Hendrick Launches New Venture

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (April 1, 2003) – Ricky Hendrick, owner of the No. 5 GMAC Financial Services Chevrolet in the NASCAR Busch Series, will launch a new business venture with a weeklong celebration beginning April 7. Ricky Hendrick’s Performance Honda Suzuki Aprilia of Charlotte will open its doors at 502 North Polk Street in Pineville with a grand-opening event featuring the Hendrick Motorsports show cars and appearances by some of NASCAR’s biggest names. Along with complimentary refreshments, low APR financing on select Honda and Suzuki motorcycles, and prizes, including autographed sheet metal, the following attractions are scheduled: MONDAY, APRIL 7 Appearances by Busch Series drivers Hank Parker and Shane Hmiel from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. TUESDAY, APRIL 8 Appearance by Jimmie Johnson, driver of the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet in the NASCAR Winston Cup Series, from 5 to 6 p.m., and a live radio remote by WSOC-FM. Registration to win a private autograph and photo session with Johnson begins at 3 p.m. WEDNESDAY, APRIL 9 Appearance by four-time Winston Cup champion Jeff Gordon, driver of the No. 24 DuPont Chevrolet from 11:45 a.m. until 1 p.m., and a live radio remote by WKKT-FM.
