CONCORD, N.C. -- Jeff Gordon's success on the track is well-documented. But it's his success and charity off of it that is currently drawing recognition.

Gordon is nominated for WebMD's People's Choice Health Hero award for 2015. The winner is determined by a fan vote.

Qualified for the award are celebrities who are "passionate about making the world a better, healthier place."

Gordon's work as a health advocate -- particularly through his Jeff Gordon's Children's Foundation, is what earned his nomination.

WebMD points out that the foundation -- which funds medical research and programs that offer cancer treatments for kids -- helped launch the Butaro Cancer Center of Excellence in rural Rwanda, and the fact that Gordon is a spokesperson and driver for AARP's Drive to End Hunger campaign.

Gordon is up against actresses Christina Applegate, Glenn Close and Carrie Fisher for the award.

Voting ends on Monday, Aug. 31, so be sure to vote now!
