CONCORD, N.C. – It was a year filled with memorable moments, and you, the fans, made it the biggest in HendrickMotorsports.com history.
With that in mind, we thought a fun way to reflect back on key events throughout the calendar year would be to revisit what you made the most popular content on the site all year long.
It may even bring back a few memories you’d forgotten about.
So without further ado, here are the top stories of 2015.
NO. 15: KAHNE ANNOUNCES BIRTH OF NEWBORN SON
In October, Kasey Kahne had an announcement to make -- the new father welcomed son Tanner Lee into the family.
NO. 14: HENDRICK’S PRE-CHASE MOTIVATION PAYING DIVIDENDS WITH THREE CONSECUTIVE WINS
At the start of the Chase for the NASCAR Sprint Cup, Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick stood in front of more than 600 teammates in the organization and spoke of overcoming adversity and fighting to the finish line. Hendrick Motorsports responded by sending Jeff Gordon to the Championship 4 and sweeping all three races of the Eliminator Round of the postseason.
"I didn't know if we could work any harder, but when Rick tells you to get to work, you find something else to do every minute of the day," Earnhardt said of Hendrick's motivation.
NO. 13: TEAMMATES PAY TRIBUTE AT HOMESTEAD WITH ‘JEFF GORDON YELLOW’
To mark the momentous occasion of Gordon's final race behind the wheel of the No. 24 Chevrolet SS, the driver's three Hendrick Motorsports teammates matched the iconic "Jeff Gordon yellow" of the No. 24 for the Nos. 5, 48 and 88 Chevys. This provided the first look at the cars the organization would bring to Homestead-Miami Speedway, and featured a video of Hendrick announcing the tribute.
NO. 12: EARNHARDT PROUD OF NO. 88 TEAM’S CHASE PERFORMACE: ‘WE’LL GET EVEN BETTER’
After missing out on advancing in the Chase by mere inches, Dale Earnhardt Jr. shared his pride in what the No. 88 team had been able to accomplish in the postseason, continuing to battle and finding Victory Lane at Phoenix International Raceway.
NO. 11: DALE EARNHARDT JR. SURPRISES FANS AND UNVEILS 2016 NO. 88 NATIONWIDE CHEVY SS
Earnhardt gave 10 fans the experience of a lifetime and gave you the first look at his No. 88 Nationwide Chevrolet SS for the 2016 season with this special surprise.
NO. 10: PEPSI PREMIERES GORDON’S ‘FINAL LAP’ COMMERCIAL
With just six races remaining in his iconic Sprint Cup career, Gordon appeared in a Pepsi commercial titled "Final Lap." The emotional journey still finds resonance after his final lap has been completed.
NO. 9: JEFF GORDON’S EMOTIONAL AWARDS BANQUET SPEECH
The biggest moment of the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Awards banquet came when Gordon stepped to the podium to give an emotional, career-capping speech that brought tears from the speaker -- and likely many in the audience.
NO. 8: ATLANTA MOTOR SPEEDWAY HONORS GORDON WITH ‘AWESOME’ GIFT FOR HIS SON
All season long, tracks made sure to honor Gordon in unique and exciting ways nearly every single week. One of the most memorable came just after the Daytona 500, when the series headed to Atlanta Motor Speedway.
NO. 7: ESPN’S TRIBUTE – ‘JEFF GORDON’S FINAL RIDE’ – NARRATED BY JIMMIE JOHNSON
The Gordon tributes came fast and furious as the season neared its conclusion, and this one featured on ESPN may have been the most impactful. Narrated by Hendrick Motorsports teammate Jimmie Johnson, the feature, which aired on "SportsCenter," looked at the impact Gordon has made on the sport.
NO. 6: JIMMIE JOHNSON ENJOYS GAG GIFT FROM ELLEN DEGENERES: ‘THAT WILL BE USEFUL’
Hendrick Motorsports drivers were no strangers to national television in 2015, but Johnson's appearance on "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" might have been the funniest. Johnson and DeGeneres discussed the driver's Half Ironman, braving the carpool lane with Gordon and any potential future in racing for his daughters.
NO. 5: DALE EARNHARDT JR.’S DREAM TREEHOUSE ALMOST COMPLETE
The driver of the No. 88 Chevrolet SS gave an inside look at one of the newest -- and coolest -- features of his property. It was the first look inside a custom-made treehouse.
"It's good, tried-and-true, and it's not going to fall out of the tree," Earnhardt laughed.
NO. 4: TOM CRUISE’S SURPRISE, HEARTFELT INTRODUCTION OF JEFF GORDON
The speech that followed was one of the most memorable in the awards banquet's history, but the introduction that preceded it was equally as exciting. Tom Cruise surprised Gordon with this touching tribute.
NO. 3: JEFF GORDON TO RUN FINAL FULL-TIME NASCAR SEASON IN 2015
The announcement that signaled the beginning of the end of Gordon's iconic career behind the wheel of the No. 24 Chevy. Gordon and Hendrick both shared their thoughts on the big news within this story.
NO. 2: ELLIOTT’S THROWBACK NAPA SCHEME INSPIRED BY ‘AWESOME BILL’ AT DARLINGTON
The throwback theme for the Southern 500's return to Labor Day weekend at Darlington Raceway was one of the biggest highlights of the entire season. Chase Elliott's retro paint scheme -- honoring one that his father Bill Elliott raced to $1 million at Darlington -- was one of the most exciting.
NO. 1: EARNHARDT POPS THE QUESTION
If you thought Earnhardt's treehouse was exciting, another peek inside his personal life away from the track was the most popular story of 2015 on HendrickMotorsports.com. During an off weekend, Earnhardt traveled to Germany to explore his family's roots -- and let fans in on the biggest news of the vacation, when he proposed to longtime girlfriend Amy Reimann.
