CONCORD, N.C. -- Thursday night at Charlotte Motor Speedway, all four Hendrick Motorsports drivers advanced to the final round of qualifying.
Alex Bowman will lead his teammates to the green flag for Saturday night's Bank of America 500.
Bowman will roll the No. 88 Axalta Chevrolet SS off the grid second. He missed out on the pole by .004 seconds.
"It means so much for Hendrick Motorsports to take a chance on me and to put me in it for these races. I'm just really thankful to be here," Bowman said. "I hate that we didn't get the pole there -- we were so close. It's definitely my best starting spot by a bunch, but you'd always like that pole."
Just behind him will be Chase Elliott, who qualified third.
"Really proud of this whole 3M group," Elliott said. "Good starting spot, but it's just a starting spot. You have to also recognize that and try to go get them on Saturday night."
Jimmie Johnson and Kasey Kahne will begin Saturday's race side-by-side, qualifying 11th and 12th, respectively.
Kevin Harvick earned the pole position.
Saturday's Bank of America 500 is scheduled for 7 p.m. ET on NBC, MRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
