CONCORD, N.C. -- The offseason may have only just begun, but the countdown to the Daytona 500 is on.
In just 88 days, the four Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolets will be taking the green flag for the start of the 2017 season.
However, until then there is still plenty of action to keep up with throughout the offseason.
For starters, the first 2017 paint scheme was unveiled Tuesday via Facebook Live.
Dale Earnhardt Jr. joined JR Motorsports' Mike Davis to unveil the driver's 2017 No. 88 Nationwide Chevrolet SS.
Before removing the car cover, Earnhardt participated in a Q&A session, discussing celebrity movie picks, favorite paint schemes, as well as the process of choosing a new paint scheme.
"When we start the paint scheme process, I'll get word from Nationwide that the partners are interested in seeing some ideas," Earnhardt explained. "I have some ideas of my own and the sponsor has ideas of their own and the team and Greg Ives will have some ideas of his own. We get everybody in the same room and these ideas sort of move from person to person and kind of get molded as they go. The end result really is a blend of my personal influence and Nationwide's influence, the team's influence and even fan influence sometimes."
