CONCORD, N.C. -- Monday evening, NASCAR announced an enhanced competition format that will be implemented in all three of its national series -- including the NASCAR Cup Series -- starting in 2017.
Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick shared his thoughts on the updates, noting that it came from a collaboration between all facets of the sport, "from the tracks to the TV partners to NASCAR to the team owners to the drivers -- everybody's been involved, and it's exciting because we got the fans involved."
"This effort is from everybody putting their best thoughts together," he said, "and I'm excited to see it unfold."
