CONCORD, N.C. -- Like all of Hendrick Motorsports, Kasey Kahne and the No. 5 team closed the 2016 season strong.
In 2016, Kahne posted his most top-10 results since 2013. And of his 21 top-14 finishes last season, 12 of them occurred in the final 14 races of the year.
"We stayed consistent all season," he said, "but we were consistenly in a better spot those final 12 (races)."
With that in mind, Kahne said that ever since the Monday following the season finale at Homestead-Miami Speedway, the No. 5 team has joined forces with a singular mindset -- continue that improvement and momentum entering 2017.
"We're working hard, we're working for each other and hopefully we start off strong and just can carry it," he said.
