CONCORD, N.C. – Wednesday was a big night for Hendrick Motorsports.

First, Ray Evernham was named to the NASCAR Hall of Fame class of 2018. Then, Jimmie Johnson took the stage to be honored at the Speedway Children’s Charities Gala.

Johnson was recognized for not only his success on the track, but his selfless support of children and families in need throughout his career, through both Speedway Children’s Charities and his own Jimmie Johnson Foundation.

The driver of the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet SS brought a very special guest – his date for the night -- on stage as well.

My beautiful date and I are dressed and ready for the @scc_charlotte gala.

Among the attendees for the night’s events was Johnson’s Hendrick Motorsports teammate Dale Earnhardt Jr.

At the @scc_charlotte charity event with my brother Kerry listening to @dariusrucker jam the heck out.
