DOVER, Del. – Another stage of racing is complete at Dover International Speedway and Jimmie Johnson led his teammates to the Stage 2 green-checkered flag as the runner-up.
After starting the stage in 16th following a trip to pit road, Johnson and the No. 48 Lowe’s team shuffled their way back up to the front of the field. He earned nine points for the second-place finish.
Teammates Chase Elliott and Kasey Kahne worked their way into the top-10 and finished seventh and 10th, respectively, earning additional points as well.
Dale Earnhardt Jr finished the stage just outside of the top 15 in 16th.
Martin Truex Jr. won the stage.
With the first two stages complete, a final 160-lap segment remains before the checkered flag waves at Dover.
