Vickers Fastest in Texas Happy Hour

FORT WORTH, Texas (March 28, 2003) – Driving the No. 5 GMAC Financial Services Chevrolet, Brian Vickers and the GMAC Racing team posted the quickest lap during Friday’s final “Happy Hour” practice before Saturday’s NASCAR Busch Series event at Texas Motor Speedway. With a speed of 189.837 mph, the 19-year-old was almost two-tenths faster than Bobby Hamilton, Jr., who ran the second-fastest lap of the session. Saturday’s O’Reilly 300, scheduled for 2 p.m. EST (FOX) on Saturday, will be Vickers’ first-ever start at Texas. GMAC Racing will start from the fifth position.
