RICHMOND, Va. – Alex Bowman will lead the field to the green flag on Sunday afternoon in Richmond, Virginia. The No. 48 Ally Racing Chevrolet will line up as the first of three Hendrick Motorsports entries inside the top 10.
William Byron will start from the third position while Kyle Larson will roll off the grid in the ninth spot. Josh Berry will make his fourth start with Hendrick Motorsports from the 30th position on track.
Saturday’s NASCAR Cup Series practice and qualifying session at Richmond Raceway was cancelled due to rain. As a result, the lineup has been set by the metric formula used to determine the qualifying order.

Bowman enters the weekend as the most recent driver from Hendrick Motorsports to win on the .75-mile short track. That breakthrough victory came in 2021’s spring event. The No. 48 Ally Racing team also enters the weekend atop the regular season points standings.
"It's definitely nice," Bowman said of his top position in the Cup Series standings. "It's something I haven't done in my career. It's cool to lead the points with this crew. Obviously, we're a handful of races in, so it's a small sample size. We have had a good start to the season, which feels really good. It's my job to keep that going."
While Byron is looking for his first victory at Richmond and Larson aims for his opening win of the season, the pair have had success at this track before. In 2022’s Richmond spring race, the No. 24 entry paced the field for 122 laps and earned a top-five result. As for Larson, he won the pole in his last trip to Richmond in August. The Elk Grove, California, native is the only other active driver from Hendrick Motorsports to score a victory at the facility as he earned the checkered flag in 2017's fall race while driving for Chip Ganassi Racing.

Josh Berry returns to the No. 9 NAPA Auto Parts Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 this weekend to fill in for Chase Elliott as he continues to recover from a successful surgery on a fractured tibia suffered from a snowboarding accident. Road racing standout Jordan Taylor drove the car at Circuit of The Americas last weekend. Berry has one top-10 finish in his three Cup Series starts this year. In three NASCAR Xfinity Series starts at Richmond, he has two top 10s.
