HAMPTON, Ga. -- Due to the continued threat of inclement weather in the area, the start time for Sunday's NASCAR Cup Series race has been moved up.

The race is now scheduled to begin at 1 p.m. ET.

As the weather has not yet moved in on the area, qualifying took place Friday evening, with Alex Bowman leading his teammates to the green flag in 18th when the race begins Sunday.

Jimmie Johnson qualified 22nd with William Byron behind him with a 23rd-place starting spot.

Chase Elliott will round out the organization's contingency and roll off the grid 27th.

Sunday's race at Atlanta will be broadcast on FOX, PRN and SiriusXM NASCAR Radio.
