CONCORD, N.C.—This weekend, Hendrick Motorsports is headed to Dover International Speedway.
And Jimmie Johnson, driver of the No. 48 Lowe’s Chevrolet SS, is ready to take on the “Monster Mile” in hopes of capturing his 11th track victory.
Johnson has made an impression at the concrete oval logging 2,999 laps led around Dover International Speedway in his career – the most of any driver at the track.
In last year’s spring race, Johnson started 14th and made his way into the top five early on. With 25 laps to go, Johnson took the lead and was able to hold off competitors on an exciting green-white-checkered finish to join Dale Earnhardt, Richard Petty, Darrell Waltrip and David Pearson as drivers with double-digit Cup wins at a single track.
