CONCORD, N.C. -- Wednesday afternoon, the entire Hendrick Motorsports organization gathered together as a group.
The event served as motivation heading into the final stretch of the 2016 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series season, and a time to recognize team members who have been with the organization for 20 years.
Not only did more than 600 team members hear from Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick, a special guest also took the stage.
Marcus Luttrell, who served as an active duty Navy SEAL from 1999 to 2007 and served multiple tours throughout the Middle East, shared his perspective on toughness through adversity and sticking together.
Luttrell co-authored the book "Lone Survivor," which was adapted into a film in 2013, to pay tribute to the men who perished in Operation Red Wing.
