CONCORD, N.C. -- For the new year, No. 88 team crew chief Greg Ives pinpointed three personal resolutions to strive toward off the track in 2017.

No. 1: Spend more time with family.

"I often tend to get home and still try to continue work. So I want to make sure that when I go home, I’m taking time out for the kids, eating dinner at the table, making sure I put them to bed with a good story. I think that’s always important to keep that balanced lifestyle and it’s definitely something I want to continue to improve on.”

No. 2: Break out the rowing machine.

"I think my rowing machine has collected a lot of dust over the course of the year. It might have gotten 10 minutes here, a week there, but definitely want to make sure I get back on that thing. It’s something that just gives you an overall workout and allows you to maybe focus a little bit in the morning before you get your day started or at night. It just also gives you a little bit of stress relief and some time to yourself.”

No. 3: Read -- and finish -- books.

“I seem to have started a lot of books and I’ll get quite a bit of knowledge out of maybe the first half of the book but never really get to finish it before I’m already trying to start another one. Just trying to take the time instead of watching TV or doing other things, trying to maybe finish the books.”
