CONCORD, N.C. -- As Hendrick Motorsports owner Rick Hendrick prepares to enter the NASCAR Hall of Fame, we've heard from the organization's contributors from the 1980s, 1990s and 2000s.

We've heard from crew chiefs and longtime employees.

The likes of Darrell Waltrip, Ray Evernham, Terry Labonte, Mark Martin, Steve Letarte, Alan Gustafson and Chad Knaus have all chimed in.

But just as important as Hendrick has been to the team members inside the organization, he has played just as big a role in the relationships with partners that work with Hendrick Motorsports.

"Two words quickly come to mind when thinking of Mr. Hendrick – integrity and humility,” said Dan Askey, NAPA AUTO PARTS president. “I recall Mr. Hendrick speaking to a large group of store owners in Las Vegas shortly after we announced our partnership. In his enthusiasm, he extended an offer to help our relationship continue to grow by giving out his cell number. I mean, who does that? Mr. Rick Hendrick does, that’s who."

Jim McCoy, director of sports marketing with Nationwide, said that he had already gained a strong impression of Hendrick even before partnering with Hendrick Motorsports.

"Having been around NASCAR 10-plus years before our partnership with Hendrick Motorsports, I was amazed how Mr. Hendrick was so revered and respected by other owners, drivers and industry leaders," McCoy said. "As we began our relationship with Hendrick Motorsports, it only took a few moments with Mr. H to understand why.

"I have never met a person at his level that is so grounded and genuinely caring. It comes through in his actions but more importantly through the actions of his team. Nationwide is proud to call Rick Hendrick a business partner and friend."

Mike Linton, chief marketing officer for Farmers Insurance, also noted how easy it is to see why Hendrick is so well-respected throughout the industry.

And it comes as no surprise to him that Hendrick will be inducted into the NASCAR Hall of Fame.

"Rick is one of the most respected leaders in racing and in business," Linton said. "He has been a great partner during our seven-year NASCAR sponsorship. This well-deserved honor is a testament to all Rick has accomplished, and I am pleased to congratulate him on this prestigious achievement."

As Friday night's induction ceremony approaches, Hendrick Motorsports partners wanted to congratulate Hendrick on the honor.

“On behalf of the entire NAPA family, we congratulate Mr. Hendrick on this well-deserved achievement and honor," Askey said. "Thanks for all you continue to do for NAPA. We are honored to call you a friend and member of the NAPA family.”
